Thanh Pham Empower Our Youth
More than 400 students have learned to defend themselves against date rape and domestic violence thanks to 17-year-old Wellesley (Massachusetts) High School senior Thanh Pham’s Empower Our Youth program. She started the nonprofit two years ago to fund classes at inner-city Boston schools.
The mission of Empower Our Youth is to provide self-defense and self-esteem bulding classes to public schools, especially inner-city schools, in hopes of preparing students with the life skills to safely approach and overcome any dangerous social situation in their future.
